Whether your gout is currently on the attack or in hiding, now is the time to act!
Are you worried about the swelling and burning pain of your next gout attack? If so, it’s time to feel better and to stop the attacks from happening. If you’re ready to take control of your gout, it’s time to take action.
This clinical research study is investigating the safety and effectiveness of the approved gout medication allopurinol. If you are currently taking allopurinol but continue to suffer gout attacks, this may mean your treatment is not adequately lowering your uric acid – the cause of gout.
If you’re not taking allopurinol, optimized treatment with this medication over time may help to eliminate or reduce the frequency of gout attacks.
This global study seeks to explore how treatment with allopurinol can be optimized to reduce the burden gout creates in your day‐to‐day life. The results of this study will help doctors to better understand how to use allopurinol most effectively in patients with gout.
To qualify for this study you must:
Have a diagnosis of gout
Have had at least 2 gout attacks in the past 12 months
Be willing to take treatment daily to prevent gout attacks
You should know that:
The study doctor will see you monthly over the next 6 months to optimize your treatment, with the goal of reducing your gout attacks
Your medical information is kept strictly confidential, unless given your permission or except as required by law
When you qualify for this study, you will receive:
Close monitoring of your gout to optimize your long-term treatment at no cost to you
Compensation to cover your time and travel expenses
Reimbursement for your gout medication (allopurinol)
To participate:
You DON'T need to be having a gout attack now
You DON'T need to be currently taking any gout medication
